Dave Prout Memorial Goalkeeping Camp
About Us
Welcome to the Dave Prout Memorial Goalkeeping Camp, where aspiring goalkeepers come to hone their skills and reach their full potential.
Our camp is dedicated to providing top-tier training, mentorship, and support to goalkeepers of all levels. With a focus on technique, strategy, and mental preparedness, we aim to develop well-rounded athletes capable of excelling on and off the field.
Who was Dave?
Dave Prout was a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a friend to many, a civil servant, an athlete, and a goalie coach to a very lucky group of keepers. Dave not only taught those keepers core goalkeeping skills and the finer points of the position, he also taught confidence, work ethic, perseverance and mental toughness. He was known locally as the go-to coach if your keeper wanted to improve and reach their goals. Whether he coached you for a season or for 10 years, Dave was your advocate. Not only did he spend time improving skills in training each week, but he also attended his keepers’ games. He would meet with the keeper after the game and offer pointers, point out some good things they did and maybe an analysis of the game. And as he left the game, he would always tell his student, “Good job!”

Dave had a number of keepers go on to college careers, and he often shared their success on Facebook, with coaches or just in general conversation. He was not only passionate about the game and hard work, but he was just as passionate about the kids he coached.

The Dave Prout Memorial Goalie Camp exists to carry on his legacy, and to pass on his knowledge, passion, and enthusiasm for the position, but also for those unique individuals who choose to play that position. Join us for fun, learning, and comradery with others who play "the loneliest position on the field."

Founder & Developer

Gracie VanLangevelde
Gracie has been playing soccer for about 18 years and has been a keeper for roughly 13 of those years. She trained with Coach Dave Prout for 10+ years and even sought his advice from Michigan Tech in his final months. Because of Coach Dave, Gracie was able to play at some of the highest levels of soccer offered in the United States. As a result, she wanted to give other goalkeepers an opportunity to train in a high-intensity environment to carry on Dave's legacy. Thus, the Dave Prout Memorial Goalkeeping Camp was born.
Gracie has earned a BS in Exercise Science and minors in Psychology and Coaching; a master's degree in Kinesiology; and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Physical Therapy, with a focus in traumatic brain injury and concussion rehab.
